Note: The Great Zab river drains the province, which is bounded by Īrān to the east and Iraq to the south. It is the most isolated and sparsely inhabited Turkish province. Mountainous, the province contains only a small amount of cultivated land, and is mainly populated by semi-nomadic, livestock rearing Kurds. |
