Note: Region in western Honduras, on the north side of Lake Yojoa; noted for archaelogical studies of the Maya frontier. Common opinion currently holds that this area was 50 miles beyond the Maya border, and that the people of Los Naranjos spoke Lenca, a language indigenous to Honduras and El Salvador.
