Note: Near Findon on the South Downs. Considered one of Britain's greatest prehistoric hillforts. An Iron Age fort was built (beginning ca. 300 BCE) on the site of an early important Neolithic flint mining industry. It may have been a tribal capital during the Iron Age. The site was deserted between 50 BCE and 50 CE.
