Note: Located in an isolated valley six miles SE of Malton. The exceptionally clear earthworks of the medieval village can be found here. Noted for ruins of an 11th-century church, with a short Anglo-Saxon nave and a Norman chancel and apse. An excavated 12th-century stone building has been associated with a Norman manor house.
