Note: Any substance introduced into a deteriorated or otherwise fragile material where it strengthens and stabilizes parts into a whole, solid, or compact mass. In the conservation of sculpture, stone that has lost cohesive strength must be reinstated by the introduction of a consolidant. Materials used in this context may include epoxy, silicates, or acrylics. |

Bij de conservering van beeldhouwwerken moet steen die zijn cohesiekracht kwijt is, worden hersteld door het inbrengen van een consoliderend middel. Epoxy, silicaten of acrylvezels kunnen in deze context worden gebruikt. |
