Note: A printing process in which tone is added to a major part of the print by sprinkling granulated sugar on the ground while it is still hot and liquid. Once the plate is cold and the sugar has been rinsed away, a random pattern of pits of varied depth is left behind and will create corresponding clusters of black dots on the resulting print.

| Chinese (traditional) ..... 一種用以在印刷品增添大片色調的印刷技法。將砂糖撒於炙熱液態的防腐蝕層上，待印版冷卻，糖份被沖洗掉之後，即留下深度不一的凹點所形成的隨機圖案，在最終的印刷成品上則會製造出相對應的黑點群。 |
| Dutch ..... Een drukprocedé waarbij kleurstof aan een groot deel van de afdruk wordt toegevoegd door suikerkristallen op de etsgrond te strooien terwijl deze nog heet en vloeibaar is. Wanneer de plaat is afgekoeld en de suiker wordt weggespoeld, blijft een willekeurig putjespatroon van uiteenlopende diepte achter, wat overeenkomstige groepen zwarte puntjes op de betreffende afdruk oplevert. |
