Note: Close-fitting, hip-length jackets without sleeves, usually collarless and secured with a belt, especially those worn over a doublet during the 16th and 17th centuries. Dutch ..... Nauwsluitende, mouwloze jassen tot aan de heupen, meestal zonder kraag en met ceintuur, vooral die werden gedragen over een doublet in de 16e en 17e eeuw. Gebruik ook voor soortgelijke kledingstukken met sluitingen gemaakt van geweven of gebreide stof of leer en gedragen in de 20e eeuw als beschermende bovenkleding of om uitrusting te dragen door militair personeel. |
Spanish ..... Úsese para designar una chaqueta informal entallada, que llega hasta la altura de las caderas, sin mangas, generalmente sin cuello y asegurada con un cinturón, sobre todo aquéllas que se llevaban sobre un jubón durante los siglos XVI y XVII. También se usa para designar una prenda similar con cierres hechos de lana, paño tejido o cuero y que se llevó durante el siglo XX como ropa externa protectora o para transportar equipamiento por parte del personal militar. |
