Note: The application of paint over already dry areas of a painting. Can include the artist's own application of, for example, glazes and scumbles. In conservation, limited to later work, by a conservator, and distinguished from "inpainting," which refers the filling in of lost areas without covering original paint. For similar work done by conservators to cover damage or mask unwanted features, use "repainting"; for similar work not done by conservators, use "retouching." |

Chinese (traditional) ..... 在畫作上顏料已乾的區域覆上顏料的技術。畫家可自行加入如亮面處理及漸淡畫法等手法。在保存方面,該詞彙只限於指稱修復師的工作,用有別於「補筆(inpainting)」;圖畫修補是將顏料填入缺掉的區塊,但不覆蓋原作現存的部分。覆蓋損毀或遮住多餘的部分,修復師則採用「重繪(repainting)」,但若非修護師所為,重畫的行為則稱「潤飾(retouching)」。 |
Dutch ..... Het aanbrengen van verf op delen van een schilderij die al droog zijn. Kan slaan op de glazuren, dekkleuren en dergelijke die door de kunstenaar zelf zijn aangebracht. Wordt met betrekking tot recenter werk ook gebruikt in verband met conserveringswerkzaamheden die zijn uitgevoerd door een conservator, maar dient in dat geval te worden onderscheiden van 'bijschilderen'. Die term heeft namelijk betrekking op het bijwerken van delen waar de oorspronkelijke verf is verdwenen. Gebruik 'retoucheren' voor soortgelijk werk, bedoelt om schade of ongewenste kenmerken weg te werken en niet is uitgevoerd door een conservator. |
Spanish ..... El uso de las áreas ya secas de una pintura. En la conservación, limitada para trabajar por un conservador, que refiere el relleno de áreas sin la pintura original de la cubierta. Para el trabajo similar hecho no por los conservadores, se llama "retocando.” |
