Note: Refers to panels of oak or other wood that is used to line the walls of a room. It often refers specifically to the decorative or protective facings applied to the lower portion of an interior partition or wall, whether of wood or another material. The term originally referred to a superior quality of oak from Russia, Germany, and Holland, that was used primarily for fine panel-work. |

Dutch ..... Verwijst naar panelen van eikenhout of ander hout die worden gebruikt om wanden in een ruimte te bekleden. De term verwijst vaak specifiek naar de decoratieve of beschermende panelen op het onderste deel van een scheidingsmuur binnenshuis, hetzij van hout of van ander materiaal. De term verwees oorspronkelijk naar een hoge kwaliteit eikenhout uit Rusland, Duitsland of Nederland, dat hoofdzakelijk werd gebruikt voor verfijnde lambriseringen. |
