Note: Historicist architectural and furniture style developed in the third and fourth quarters of the 19th century. Reverts to the formal language of Louis XIV architecture from the late 17th and first quarter of the 18th century. Common decorative figures include, among others, acanthus leaves, laurel leaves and lion heads, all inspired by Greco-Roman antiquity. |

Dutch ..... Historiserende architectuurstijl die zich vanaf het derde en vierde kwart van de 19de eeuw ontwikkelt. Grijpt terug naar de vormentaal van de bouwkunst van de Lodewijk XIV-stijl uit het eind van de 17de en het eerste kwart van de 18de eeuw. Veel voorkomende decoratieve figuren zijn o.a. acanthusbladeren, laurierbladeren en leeuwenkoppen, geïnspireerd op de Grieks-Romeinse oudheid. |
