Note: A compound belonging to the family of dicarboxylic acids and derivatives; organic compounds containing exactly two carboxylic acid groups of carbonic acid and ethanol with the formula OC(OCH2CH3)2, appearing as a colorless liquid with an inoffensive odor and a flash point of 77 degrees Fahrenheit. Insoluble and less dense than water, it will float on the surface. In conservation, it has been used as a solvent to remove adhesives. |
