Note: A synthetic fabric with a thick, soft pile, used for outer clothing and blankets. Originally developed in 1979 by Malden Mills, a Massachusetts textile maker. Made from polyethylene terephthalate (PET), it has been adopted as an alternative to wool in applications that require warmth. It can be made from fibers recycled from plastic PET bottles. |

Dutch ..... Een zachte gebreide stof van polyester, gekrompen en geruwd, waardoor het oogt als een vacht en warmte-isolerend is. Ontwikkeld in de V.S. in 1979 door het bedrijf Malden Mills; wordt sinds 2007 vaak gemaakt van hergebruikte PET-flessen, polyethyleentereftalaat. Alternatief materiaal voor wollen kleren en dekens. |
