Note: The English language in the period between Anglo/Saxon and Modern English, usually considered spoken between 1066 and 1485 CE (or more broadly, ca. 1100/1150-1450/1500). Dutch ..... De Engelse taal zoals die gesproken werd in de periode tussen het Angelsaksisch en het moderne Engels, doorgaans geschat als tussen 1100-1150 en 1450-1500. Het Middelengels wordt gekenmerkt door een verminderde mate van grammaticale flexie, een grotere hoeveelheid leenwoorden uit andere talen, vooral Frans en Latijn, en een grote dialectische diversiteit in de geschreven vorm. |
