Note: Member of the Bantu branch of Niger-Congo languages; it is now spoken in Uganda, in the southeast, primarily Buganda province, Lake Victoria northwest shore to Lake Kyoga and Tanzania border. It is spoken by around million Baganda people, who live mainly in the Buganda region of Uganda, and elsewhere in Uganda as a second language. The name Uganda is the Swahili version of Baganda. |

Dutch ..... Taal uit de Bantoe-tak van de Niger-Congo-taalfamilie; wordt vandaag de dag in het zuidoosten van Oeganda gesproken, hoofdzakelijk in de provincie Buganda en tussen de noordwestelijke kust van het Victoriameer, het Kyogameer en de grens met Tanzania. De taal heeft ongeveer miljoen sprekers onder het Baganda-volk, die vooral in Buganda wonen, en elders in Oeganda dient het als tweede taal. De naam 'Oeganda' is 'Baganda' in het Swahili. |
