Note: Japanese marbled paper created using the ancient technique of suminagashi, literally ‘ink dropped in water’; in which inks mixed with pine resin are dropped onto a bath of water in the marbling tray, and gently manipulated into a pattern then transferred to a sheet of plain paper. |

Dutch ..... Japans marmerpapier dat gemaakt wordt met de oude suminagashi-techniek, letterlijk 'inkt in water laten vallen'. In deze techniek dient men verschillende soorten inkt, vermengd met dennenhars, toe op een bad water in een marmerbak. Vervolgens wordt de inkt voorzichtig tot een bepaald patroon gevormd en daarna overgezet op een gewoon vel papier. |
