Dutch ..... Binaire verbindingen van zuurstof en ijzer. In de natuur komt ijzeroxide bijvoorbeeld voor in het mineraal hematiet. Er zijn zestien ijzeroxiden en oxyhydroxiden bekend. Het corrosieproduct roest is ook een vorm van ijzeroxide. Deze stoffen hebben veel verschillende toepassingen, bijvoorbeeld als chemische katalysator, pigment of kleurstof. |
