Note: Yellowish-brown powder that absorbs moisture from the air to form green crystals soluble in water. Copper chloride is used as a fixative in dyeing and printing fabrics, as a wood preservative, and in refining of copper, gold, and silver. The hydrolysis and oxidation of copper chloride is responsible for the destructive formation of bronze disease. |

Dutch ..... Gelig bruin poeder dat vocht uit de lucht absorbeert en groene kristallen vormt die oplosbaar zijn in water. Koperchloride wordt gebruikt als fixeermiddel voor het verven en bedrukken van stof, als conserveermiddel voor hout en bij de raffinage van koper, goud en zilver. De hydrolyse en oxidatie van koperchloride is verantwoordelijk voor de destructieve vorming van bronspest. |
