Note: A volatile, organozinc liquid compound used in mass deacidification of library materials. Because it ignites upon exposure to air, diethyl zinc can only be used in conservation under controlled conditions, released within a specially designed vacuum chamber from which oxygen has been evacuated. |

Dutch ..... Een vluchtige, vloeibare organozinkverbinding die wordt gebruikt bij de massaontzuring van bibliotheekmaterialen. Omdat het bij contact met de lucht vlam vat, kan diethylzink in de conservering alleen onder gecontroleerde omstandigheden ingezet worden, in een speciaal ontworpen vacuümtank waar alle zuurstof uit is verwijderd. |
