Note: Drinking glasses designed to be as difficult as possible to drink from without spilling the alcoholic beverage within, often including a tube that served as a straw. The goal was to amuse the onlookers at the expense of the imbiber: in drinking competitions, the drinker had to guess how to drink from the vessel; if any liquor was spilled, he was required to start again with a full glass. |

Dutch ..... Drinkglazen die zo zijn gemaakt dat ze erg moeilijk zijn om uit te drinken zonder de alcoholische drank in de glazen te morsen. Vaak zit er een buisje in dat dient als drinkrietje. Het doel van de glazen was om toeschouwers te vermaken ten koste van de drinker: in drinkwedstrijden moest de drinker bedenken hoe hij uit het vat moest drinken. Als er drank werd gemorst, moest hij opnieuw beginnen met een vol glas. |
