Note: The process in which a material leaves the surface of the solid into which it was absorbed or adsorbed; it is the reverse of those processes. In conservation, adsorption may refer as well to intentional removal of absorbed or adsorbed material from a substrate through increased heat, decreased pressure, or other measures. |

Dutch ..... Het proces waarin een materiaal het oppervlak van de vaste stof verlaat waarin het geabsorbeerd of geadsorbeerd was; desorptie is de omkering van die processen. In de conserveringswetenschap kan de term ook verwijzen naar het opzettelijk verwijderen van geabsorbeerd of geadsorbeerd materiaal uit een substraat. Dit kan gedaan worden door middel van verhitting, het verlagen van de druk of andere methoden. |
