Dutch ..... Grote groep met tussen de 5000 en 10.000 soorten, afhankelijk van de classificatie, van voornamelijk meercellige zeealgen, waaronder veel opvallende zeewieren en koraalalgen. Ze hebben eukaryotische cellen zonder flagellen of centriolen en maken zetmeel aan als voedselreserve. Daarnaast produceren ze phycobiliproteïnen als extra rode pigmenten. Ze hebben geen extern endoplasmatisch reticulum en planten zich seksueel voort. |
