Dutch ..... Soort grote bladverliezende heester of kleine loofboom, inheems in Zuidwest-Azië en het Middellandse Zeegebied, die op grote schaal wordt gekweekt voor zijn eetbare vrucht. Het was een van de eerste planten die werd gekweekt door de mens, zoals blijkt uit bewijsmateriaal dat dateert uit de periode 9400-9200 v.Chr., dus nog vóór de domesticatie van tarwe, gerst en peulvruchten. |
