Note: Pigment name for a variety of green pigments, originally referring to green created from a mixture of blue and yellow colors prepared by Paolo Veronese, a 16th century Venetian painter. It is also used for any pigment resembling that color, including green earth pigments, copper-based emerald green, viridian, and other pigments of similar color. |

Pigmentnaam voor een verscheidenheid aan groene pigmenten, oorspronkelijk verwijzend naar een groene kleur die door de 16e-eeuwse Venetiaanse schilder Paolo Veronese werd gemaakt door het mengen van blauwe en gele kleuren. Het wordt ook gebruikt voor elk pigment dat op deze kleur lijkt, zoals groene aardepigmenten, smaragdgroen op koperbasis, chroomoxydehydraatgroen en andere pigmenten van een vergelijkbare kleur. |
