Note: Refers to the style of porcelain, originally made in China, characterized by the inclusion of an opaque enamel color that ranges from pink to purplish rose. The pigment itself is called Purple of Cassius, derived from colloidal gold, and was taken to China by Jesuit missionaries around 1685. The style reached its peak during the reign of Yongzheng (1723-1735), after which it became increasingly commercial and largely for export to Europe. The style also occurs in French, German, and English wares.

Chinese (traditional) ..... 用指中國瓷器的風格,特色是採用粉紅色、紫粉色等不透明琺瑯釉彩。粉彩又稱「凱細歐紫 (Purple of Cassius)」,一六八五年左右由耶穌會教士傳入中國。雍正時期(西元1723年至1735年)粉彩日益商業化,大量輸至歐洲,為此風格的全盛時期。德國彩陶及英國瓷器亦出現此風格。 
Dutch ..... Verwijst naar een type porselein dat in China is vervaardigd en dat wordt gekenmerkt door een ondoorzichtige emailkleur die kan variëren van roze tot paarsachtig roze. Het pigment zelf, het zogeheten purper van Cassius, werd rond 1685 door jezuïtische missionarissen in China geïntroduceerd. De stijl bereikte zijn hoogtepunt tijdens het bewind van Yung Cheng (1723-1735). Later werd het porselein hoofdzakelijk nog voor commerciële doeleinden vervaardigd en als exportproduct naar Europa verscheept. De stijl wordt eveneens aangetroffen bij Duitse faience en Engels porselein. 
Spanish ..... Refierese al estilo de la porcelana hecho en China caracterizada por la inclusión de un color opaco del esmalte que se extienda de rosado a purpurino. El pigmento se llama morado de Cassius, que fue llevado China por los misioneros Jesuitas alrededor de 1685. El estilo alcanzó su pick durante el reinado de Yung Cheng (1723-1735), después de lo cual se convirtió en cada vez más sofisticado y en gran parte solo para la exportación a Europa. El estilo también ocurre en objetos alemanes y porcelana inglesa.
