Note: Rifles specially designed for particular target shooting matches in which artificial supports were not used, originating in Germany in the 15th century and popular in the United States from the early 19th century until the First World War. They are characterized by long, heavy octagonal barrels, often with extra weight at the muzzle, palm rests, double set triggers, thick stocks, and very high quality, accurate sights.

Dutch ..... Geweren die speciaal zijn ontworpen voor bepaalde schietschijfwedstrijden waarbij geen kunstmatige steunen worden gebruikt, die zijn ontwikkeld in Duitsland in de 15e eeuw en populair waren in de Verenigde Staten vanaf het begin van de 19e eeuw tot aan de Eerste Wereldoorlog. Ze worden gekenmerkt door lange, zware, achthoekige lopen, vaak met extra gewicht aan de tromp, handpalm steunen, dubbele trekkers, zware geweerladen en zeer nauwkeurige vizieren van goede kwaliteit. 
Spanish ..... Rifles especialmente diseñados para tipos particulares de torneos de tiro al blanco en que no son utilizados soportes artificiales, originarios de Alemania en el siglo XV y populares en Estados Unidos desde comienzos del siglo XIX hasta la Primera Guerra Mundial. Se caracterizan por tener cañones octogonales largos y pesados, frecuentemente con un peso extra en la boca, palm rests, gatillo doble, una culata gruesa y mira de alta calidad y muy exacta.
