Note: Low drinking glasses having a short thick heavy stem and a heavy foot, and made with bowls of various shapes. They were used in private clubs, drinking societies, and at ceremonial occasions. So called from the custom of rapping the foot of the glass on the table which, in concert, sounded like gunfire. |

Chinese (traditional) ..... 淺底飲用玻璃杯,杯柄厚重、杯底沉,杯身形式各異。用於私人俱樂部、飲酒社團、以及儀式場合,其名稱來自於其使用慣例,在演奏會時,以杯座敲擊桌面,發出像槍砲的聲響。 |
Dutch ..... Lage drinkglazen met een korte, dikke, zware stam met zware voet, en een kelk van uiteenlopende vorm. Ze werden gebruikt in privéclubs, genootschappen en bij ceremoniële gelegenheden. Genoemd naar de gewoonte om gezamenlijk met de voet van het glas op de tafel te roffelen wat klonk als geweervuur. |
Spanish ..... Copas bajas para beber con un pie corto, grueso y pesado y una base pesada, y hechas con bols de diversos tamaños. Se usaban en clubes privados, sociedades de bebedores y en ceremonias. Llamadas así por la costumbre de golpear la base de las copas en la mesa, lo que producía, al golpearlas al unísono, un sonido similar a un disparo.
