Note: 17th-century American turned great chairs styled after one that belonged to John Carver, Governor of Massachusetts Bay Colony. Such chairs have boldly turned posts and decorative spindles, but unlike Brewster chairs they have spindles only in the back and below the arms, and not below the seat.

Benaming die door verzamelaars wordt gebruikt voor Amerikaanse gedraaide leunstoelen uit de 17e eeuw die zijn gevormd naar een stoel van John Carver die gouverneur was van de kolonie van Massachusetts Bay. Zulke stoelen hebben sterk gedraaide poten en decoratieve spijlen. In tegenstelling tot Brewsterstoelen zitten de spijlen alleen aan de achterkant en onder de armleuningen en niet onder de zitting. |

Jahrhunderts, der nach einem Vorbild aus dem Besitz des Gouverneurs der Massachusetts Bay Colony, John Carver, gestaltet wurde. Ein derartiger Stuhl hat kräftige gedrechselte Pfosten und dekorative Spindeln, anders als beim Brewster-Stuhl sind die Spindeln nur in der Rückenlehne und unterhalb der Armlehnen, nicht aber unterhalb der Sitzfläche eingefügt. |

Tales sillas tienen postes torneados vigorosos y husillos decorativos, pero a diferencia de las sillas Brewster, ellas tienen husillos solo en el respaldo y bajo los brazos y no debajo del asiento. |
