Zijn institutionele invloed op de kunsten betrof onder andere de verdere ontwikkeling van klassen voor schilderkunst binnen de Ottomaanse militaire scholen en de voortzetting van de in 1835 vastgestelde regeringspraktijk waarbij veelbelovende kunstenaars naar Parijs werden gestuurd om daar te studeren.
