Note: Style of painting that flourished in western Tibet beginning in the 15th century; Guge is the name of a kingdom in this region. Color is subdued and of muted tonality, akin to contemporary Nepalese painting. Figures typically have round, bloated faces and, in the case of the principal bodhisattvas, there is a preoccupation with scarves and accessories. Guge paintings are characterized by crowded compositions, a preponderance of red, and an overall style of mannered elegance. There is little trace of Central Asian features in this style.

Chinese (traditional) ..... 指西元十五世紀起盛行於西藏西部的繪畫風格。古格是此地區一個王國的名稱。此風格的色彩柔和,色調沈穩,近似當代尼泊爾繪畫;臉部渾圓為典型人像特色;主尊菩薩的造像多飾有披巾與配件。古格繪畫的畫面相當豐富,主要色彩為紅色,整體風格文雅優美,帶有些許中亞特色。 
Dutch ..... Schilderstijl die in het begin van de 15de eeuw floreerde in het westen van Tibet; Guge was de naam van een koninkrijk in deze regio. De kleuren zijn ingetogen en van gedempte tonaliteit, net als in de Nepalese schilderkunst uit dezelfde periode. Figuren hebben doorgaans ronde, gezwollen gezichten en de belangrijkste bodhisattva's zijn ruim voorzien van sjaals en accessoires. Guge-schilderijen kenmerken zich door drukke composities en een dominerende rol van de kleur rood. De algehele stijl is gemaakt elegant. Centraal-Aziatische karakteristieken zijn in deze stijl nauwelijks te vinden. 
Spanish ..... Estilo de pintura que floreció en Tibet occidental que comienza en el siglo XV; Guge es el nombre de un reino en esta región. El color es sometido y de tonalidad baja, semejante a la pintura Nepalesa contemporánea. Las figuras típicamente tienen caras redondas, hinchadas y, en el caso de los bodhisattvas, hay una preocupación por las pañoletas y accesorios. Las pinturas Guge se caracterizan por composiciones recargadas, una preponderancia del rojo, y un estilo en conjunto de afectada elegancia. Hay pocos indicios de rasgos de Asia Central en este estilo.
