Note: Refers to the Chinese dynastic culture, style, and period dating to 502 to 557. Liang was the 3rd of the Southern Dynasties; located in central China, north of Lake Dongting. The ephemeral dynasty, one of the successors of the Jin dynasty, was not able to maintain its position for long. The city of Nanjing came under strong Buddhist influence during this period.
