Note: A vitreous, transparent or translucent mineral that is a silicate of aluminium and sodium containing sodium chloride, usually of a greenish blue color but also grey, yellow, green, or pink, and is often mottled with white veins or patches. It is found in certain igneous rocks. A component of lapis lazuli, it is also used alone as a gemstone. |

Dutch ..... Een mineraal dat een bestanddeel is van lapis lazuli, maar soms ook als edelsteen wordt gebruikt. Het is transparant tot doorschijnend, met een wijnachtige tot vettige glans, en bestaat in verschillende kleuren, maar voornamelijk blauw, en soms met stippen van pyriet. |
