Note: Feathered encasing body suits awarded to a Mexica warrior after taking his second captive in battle. The feathered suit was worn over ichcahuipilli (quilted cotton body armor) along with other elements of the Cuextecatl (Huastec) warrior costume. They were made in a variety of different colors, and frequently decorated with a motif consisting of pairs of black rectangles known as "hawk scratches" that are also associated with the Huastec region.

| Spanish ..... Un traje corporal con plumas, otorgado a un guerrero Mexica después de haber capturado su segundo cautivo en el campo de batalla. El traje de plumas se usaba sobre un ichcahuipilli (armadura de algodón acolchada) junto con otros elementos del traje de guerrero Cuextecatl (Huastec). Fueron hechos en una variedad de colores diferentes, y frecuentemente decorados con un motivo que consiste en pares de rectángulos negros conocidos como "arañazos de halcón", también asociado con la región de la Huasteca. |
