Note: Named for the Baths of Zeuxippus in Constantinople (Turkey) where it was first identified in 1927, this sgraffito-decorated, lead-glazed pottery from the late 12th and early 13th centuries can be identified by its shiny pale green, yellow, or cream lead glaze and its white, thick slip, which covers most of the inside and the upper part of the outside. |

Dutch ..... Dit met sgraffiti versierd en met lood geglazuurd pottenbakkersgoed is genoemd naar de baden van Zeuxippus in Constantinopel (Turkije), waar het in 1927 werd gevonden. Het stamt uit eind 12de en begin 13de eeuw en onderscheidt zich door het glanzende lichtgroene, gele of crèmekleurige loodglazuur en het witte, dikke slib, dat het grootste deel van de binnenzijde en het bovenste deel van de buitenzijde bedekt.
