Note: Embriodered lace from the Belgian town of Lier, made with cotton A form of embroidered net lace produced in the northern Belgian town of Lier, dating from the 19th century and later. The tambour hook is used to make the outlines as well as the different fillings on tulle, with the aim of creating a strong contrast between the open and worked areas of the lace. |
