Note: Composite mixture of pigment having a pinkish hue, often available pre-mixed, and intended for use as a flesh color resembling Caucasian flesh tones. Typically used only in western art prior to the early 1900s. Types and proportions of the pigments used for this mixture varied. For the technique of painting to resemble flesh tones, particularly Caucasian, use "encarnacione (technique)." |

Dutch ..... Mengsel van verfpigmenten met een rozeachtige kleur, vaak voorgemengd verkrijgbaar, die bedoeld is om een blanke huidskleur na te bootsen. Werd hoofdzakelijk gebruikt in de westerse kunst tot de vroege 20e eeuw. De soorten en verhoudingen van pigmenten die voor het mengsel gebruikt werden, liepen uiteen. Gebruik 'encarnacione' voor de schildertechniek van het nabootsen van vooral de blanke huidskleur. |
