Note: A type of plaster composed of calcium oxide (lime). Lime plaster has been used since antiquity, prepared by heating limestone to remove carbon dioxide and convert it to anhydrous calcium oxide (quicklime). When quicklime is mixed with water, it converts to calcium hydroxide (slaked lime). |

Dutch ..... Een type pleister dat uit calciumoxide (ongebluste kalk) bestaat. Kalkpleister wordt al sinds de oudheid gebruikt. Het wordt gemaakt door kalksteen te verhitten om kooldioxide te verwijderen en het vervolgens om te zetten in watervrije calciumoxide (ongebluste kalk). Wanneer ongebluste kalk met water wordt gemengd, verandert het in calciumhydroxide (gebluste kalk). |
