Note: Refers to an embroidered or tapestry-woven inscription band in Islamic textiles, or fabric with an inscription band added in a technique different from the ground weave. Tiraz garments embroidered in silver or gold were a luxury good in Medieval Europe and are represented in portal sculptures on Chartres Cathedral. |

Dutch ..... Verwijst naar een geborduurde of geweven inscriptieband in islamitisch textiel, of een stof met een inscriptieband die is toegevoegd in een techniek die anders is dan die van het grondweefsel. Met zilver of goud geborduurde tiraz-kleden waren in de middeleeuwen een luxeartikel in Europa en zijn afgebeeld in portaalbeelden van de kathedraal van Chartres. |
