Note: Insoluble black compound that occurs naturally as galena, the chief ore mineral of lead. It can also be synthesized by reacting a soluble lead salt with hydrogen sulfide or sodium sulfide. When crushed, lead sulfide becomes a powder which is used in photoconductive cells, and as a pigment in ceramic glaze. |

Dutch ..... Niet-oplosbare zwarte verbinding die in de natuur voorkomt als galena, het belangrijkste ertsmineraal van lood. Het kan ook synthetisch worden bereid door een oplosbaar loodzout te laten reageren met waterstofsulfide of natriumsulfide. Wanneer loodsulfide wordt verpulverd, wordt het een poeder dat kan worden gebruikt in fotogeleidende cellen en als pigment in keramiekglazuur. |
