Note: Refers to cut crystal glass in which a decorative ceramic object is embedded, usually a medallion or cameo that has been carved into a white porcellaneous, heat-resistant material. A Bohemian invention of the 18th century, the technique was taken up in Paris but only became popular through English glassmakers in 18th- and 19th-century Europe. For glass characterized by a particular yellow or red color, use "cadmium sulphide glass." |

Chinese (traditional) ..... 經切割且內部嵌有裝飾性陶瓷物件的水晶玻璃,通常為雕刻成白色耐熱瓷質的圓形珠寶或浮雕寶石。為十八世紀波西米亞的發明,此技術由巴黎承接,卻直到十八及十九世紀,才由英國玻璃工匠在歐洲發揚光大。而顏色呈特殊黃色或紅色的玻璃,則稱為「硫化鎘玻璃」。 |
Dutch ..... Verwijst naar type glas dat populair was in het Europa van de 18de en 19de eeuw. Het glas wordt gekenmerkt door de aanwezigheid van een medaillon, camee of andere afbeelding die in het witte, porseleinachtige, hittebestendige materiaal was gesneden; de afbeelding werd vervolgens ingesloten in transparant glas; meestal werd deze techniek gebruikt voor vaatwerk, presse-papiers of andere objecten. Er is geen relatie met 'cadmiumsulfideglas', glas met een kenmerkende gele of rode kleur. |
Spanish ..... Se refiere a un tipo de vidrio popular en los siglos XVIII y XIX en Europa. Se caracteriza por la presencia de un medallón, camafeo u otra imagen tallada en un material blanco semejante a la porcelana y resistente al calor. A continuación la imagen era encerrada en vidrio transparente para crear un vaso, pisapapeles u otro objeto. No está relacionado con el "vidrio de sulfuro de cadmio", que es un vidrio caracterizado por un color amarillo o rojo particular.
