Term derives from the name of the tax itself.

| Chinese (traditional) ..... 用以收取當地通行費或稅金的結構物，最初是由鄉鎮和城市收取，之後則改為君主，針對欲進入本國領土提供當地居民消費的某些特定物品。主要出現於十七到十九世紀的法國和義大利。該詞彙源自於該項稅收名稱。 |
| Dutch ..... Wordt gebruikt voor bouwwerken waar een plaatselijke schatting of belasting werd ingenomen, van oorsprong door steden, later door vorsten, op bepaalde goederen die hun gebied binnen werden gebracht voor plaatselijke consumptie door de bewoners; vooral voorkomend van de 17e tot de 19e eeuw in Frankrijk en Italië. De term is afkomstig van de naam voor de belasting zelf. Geen Nederlands equivalent. |

Estructura en la que se recaudaba un peaje o impuesto local, originalmente por los pueblos y las ciudades, más tarde por los monarcas, sobre ciertos artículos que pasaban a sus territorios para el consumo local de los habitantes. Se encuentran especialmente desde el siglo XVIII al siglo XIX en Francia e Italia. El término deriva del nombre del propio impuesto. |
