Note: Paper made of 100% linen or cotton fiber. The general process of making rag paper involves boiling, shredding, and beating the rags to separate the fibers; the resulting smooth pulp is run over a fine screen in a thin layer and then dried and pressed. Rag paper is considered the finest paper support for paintings and similar works of art. |

Dutch ..... Papier gemaakt van katoenen of linnen vodden. In het algemeen bestaat het fabricageproces van lompenpapier uit het koken, verscheuren en hameren van de vodden om de vezels te scheiden. De gladde pulp die hierdoor ontstaat, wordt in een dunne laag over een fijn schepraam gegoten en vervolgens gedroogd en geperst. Lompenpapier wordt gezien als de beste papieren drager voor schilderijen en soortgelijke kunstwerken. |
Spanish ..... Papel fabricado de trapos de algodón o lino. El proceso general para fabricar el papel de hilo incluye hervir, desmenuzar y golpear los trapos para separar las fibras, lo que se traduce en una pulpa suave que se aplasta sobre un tamiz fino en una capa delgada y luego se seca y se presiona.
