Note: Rare mineral that was first discovered in 1902 in southern Madagascar. The mineral was named after French explorer Alfred Grandidier (1836–1912) who studied the natural history of Madagascar. Grandidierite is bluish-green to greenish-blue, with the blue component increasing with the iron (Fe) content. |

Dutch ..... Zeldzaam mineraal dat voor het eerst werd ontdekt in 1902 in het zuiden van Madagaskar. Het mineraal werd vernoemd naar de Franse ontdekkingsreiziger Alfred Grandidier (1836-1912) die de natuurlijke geschiedenis van Madagaskar bestudeerde. Grandidieriet is blauwgroen tot groenachtig blauw, waarbij de blauwe component toeneemt met het ijzer (Fe) gehalte. |
