Note: Form of comic Japanese theater performed since the 14th century. It developed alongside Noh theatre and often used to be performed as a light-hearted interlude, consisting of one scene, between acts of Noh. In the present, these plays are also often performed separately. This type of theater relies on mime, dialogue and fixed stereotypes of characters. |

Dutch ..... Vorm van komisch Japans theater dat sinds de 14e eeuw wordt opgevoerd. Het ontwikkelde zich naast Noh-theater en werd vroeger vaak als een luchtig intermezzo, bestaande uit één scene, opgevoerd tussen bedrijven door van Noh. Tegenwoordig worden deze stukken ook vaak afzonderlijk gespeeld. Dit type theater moet het hebben van mime, dialoog en vaste stereotypes van personages. |
