Russo-Byzantine (Russian Byzantine styles, Byzantine regional styles, ... Styles and Periods (hierarchy name)) |
|
Note: Refers to the architectural style that developed in Russia in the early to mid 19th century. It became the country's official architectural style, commonly seen in ecclesiastical buildings, and combined characteristics from early Russian and Byzantine architecture. A major proponent of this style was Konstantin Ton, who is generally considered to be the movement's founder. |
