Note: Multi-purpose medical instruments of Roman antiquity consisting of a long shaft with an olivary probe terminating one end and a spoon on the other. The spoon and the shaft are sometimes decorated. These were used for a variety of medical and cosmetic activities such as applying and measuring medicaments or the removal of medication from flasks. |

Dutch ..... Medisch instrument uit de Romeinse periode bestaande uit een lange schacht met aan de ene zijde een olijfvormige knopsonde en aan de andere zijde een smalle, diepe lepel. De lepel en de schacht zijn soms versierd. Werd gebruikt voor een variƫteit aan medische handelingen zoals het toedienen en het doseren van medicatie of het halen van medicijnen uit hun houders. |
