Note: Devices for carrying lightweight tree trunks, telephone poles and similar. The version designed for two persons consists of a pair of hinged chisel-bill hooks used as pincers mounted on pivots at the middle of a wooden pole, which is grasped at either side of the object being carried. The weight of the log forces the hooks to sink into the wood. There are verions for single-person operation with a number of interconnected levers between handle and hooks and is used for carrying relatively short pieces. |

Dutch ..... Werktuig om betrekkelijk lichte boomstammen, telefoonpalen, e.d. te dragen of te slepen. De houtdraaghaak voor twee man bestaat uit twee naar elkaar scharnierende metalen haken die in het midden van een houten stok (ca. 100-150 cm) bevestigd zijn. Vaak kunnen de haken ook roteren. De stok wordt door twee man gevat die aan beide zijden van de stam lopen. Door het gewicht steken de punten in het hout. De stok moet ca. één meter langer zijn dan de middenlijn van de stammen om te vermijden dat de benen van de dragers ertegen zouden wrijven. De houtdraaghaak voor één man is een klein werktuig (ca. 30 cm) met een aantal op elkaar werkende hefbomen tussen handvat en haken (ca. 10 cm). Het wordt door één man bediend en wordt gebruikt om betrekkelijk korte stukken te dragen. |
