Note: Japanese porcelain produced in the Arita district of Hizen province by the Sakaida family during the Tokugawa period. Wares were generally of hexagonal, octagonal, or square shape. They initially featured an underglaze blue-and-white, and later a polychrome overglaze technique. |

Dutch ..... Japans porselein dat tijdens de Tokugawa-periode werd geproduceerd door de familie Sakaida, in het district Arita van de provincie Hizen. Deze goederen waren doorgaans zeshoekig, achthoekig of vierkant van vorm, en werden aanvankelijk met een blauw-wit onderglazuur bedekt, en later met een meerkleurig bovenglazuur. |
