Note: Gelatinous, water-soluble polysaccharide substance used as an inexpensive substitute for agar in bacteriological media. In conservation, used in cleaning interventions on works of art on paper. Applications of rigid gelan gum allows a constant and controlled release of water onto paper. |

Het wordt bij conservering gebruikt bij reiniging van kunstwerken op papier. Wanneer vaste gellangom op papier wordt aangebracht, kan er een constante en gecontroleerde hoeveelheid water worden toegevoegd. |
