Note: Size exclusion chromatography (SEC) is a type of chromatography that separates compounds based on differences in molecular size in solution. It uses a separation column containing a porous, semisolid medium which retards transport of larger particle while allowing small molecules to pass quickly through. SEC (also known as gel permeation chromatography) is primarily used for characterizing molecular weight distribution of synthetic polymers. |

Dutch ..... Een chromatografietechniek waarin verbindingen worden gescheiden op basis van verschillen in hun molecuulgrootte in een oplossing. Hierin wordt een scheidingszuil gebruikt met daarin een poreuze, semivaste stof, die het transport van grotere deeltjes vertraagt maar kleine moleculen snel doorlaat. SEC (ook wel bekend als 'gel permeation chromatography') wordt hoofdzakelijk gebruikt om de moleculaire gewichtsverdeling van synthetische polymeren te analyseren. |
