Note: Genre scenes that depict soldiers drinking, resting, and gambling. Coortegardjes enjoyed their greatest popularity during the 1620s and 1630s, perhaps as a result of Dutch preoccupation with the ongoing war with Spain.

Additional Notes:
Dutch ..... Een genrestuk met een afbeelding van drinkende, rustende en gokkende soldaten in hun wachtlokalen. Kortegaarden waren vooral populair tijdens de jaren 20 en 30 van de 17de eeuw, wellicht een gevolg van de aanhoudende oorlog met Spanje. 
German ..... Genreszene, die Soldaten trinkend, rastend und um Geld spielend zeigt. Coortegardjes genossen ihre größte Beliebtheit während der 1620er und 1630er Jahre, möglicherweise als Folge der Beschäftigung der Niederländer mit dem andauernden Krieg mit Spanien.
